SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL

Shakespeare Festival at Southern Utah University hosts a dance and drama competition each October for Utah schools. Members of Dance Company have the opportunity to represent Lake Mountain Middle School at this fun event. Dancers must commit to this event in advance and a mandatory choreography workshop will be held with a professional choreographer. Company members attending the festival will also have the opportunity to audition for a duo/trio piece as well. Dancers interested in the duo/trio need to fill out the google form below by Aug 27. They will need to assemble their own group and arrange for their own rehearsal time outside of school hours. They will create their own original choreography, which must use a Shakespeare text in some way (see judges sheet below for guidelines). The dance must be completed by Sept 19, when it will be shown to the company for feedback. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Smith.
