DANCE COMPANY OFFICERS

PRESIDENT

Must be in ninth grade and a second-year member. The president should be a friend to everyone and a strong leader.  Will be the face of the company, always present to greet guests and visitors. Plan and execute company activities and parties. Lead company auditions in the spring. Lead a warm-up at every rehearsal and before performances. Will assist in choosing the concert theme and title, creating the show order for winter and spring concerts. The President will communicate concerns and needs between the company and Mrs. Smith. Must be a strong leader and dancer. Must be willing to assist struggling dancers in the company and in dance classes. Must be patient and a good teacher.

VICE PRESIDENT

Vice President will assist the President and other officers when needed. Should be a friend to everyone and a strong leader. Makes sure everyone is on task and on schedule. Supports all roles within the company. Will be in charge of preparing and sending thank you cards to guest teachers and choreographers, and anyone who assists the company.  Will be the head of the concert committee, and will be in charge of the creation of concert posters and programs. Will work with struggling dancers in the company and other dance classes. Must be able to stay positive and lift others up during stressful times.

CHOREOGRAPHY CHAIR

Must be in ninth grade and a second-year member. Must be a strong choreographer and leader. Will be in charge of recording, remembering, counting, and cleaning guest choreography and helping clean group pieces. Will assist choreographers when needed. Will choreograph the audition piece and teach it to the president and outgoing 9th-grade members to assist in auditions. Must be a friend to everyone and willing to work with struggling dancers in the company and other dance classes.

COSTUME CHAIR

The costume chair will be the head of the costume committee. They will assist Mrs. Smith in creating an inventory of costumes and accessories at the beginning of the school year. Will be very familiar with the costume collection. Will help choreographers select costumes, either from our inventory or through purchase, that will enhance their choreography and intent. Will be in charge of labeling, organizing, distributing and collecting costumes for each performance. Will be in charge of getting costumes washed after closing night. Must be well organized and responsible, and a good communicator. Will require some time after school or during shield time during the first weeks of school and around concert weeks.

HISTORIAN

Will be in charge of taking photos at all events, performances, rehearsals, and outside activities. Should be planning to attend the Shakespeare Festival, as well as any other events throughout the year. Will send photos to the school librarian to advertise company performances and auditions on the school social media pages, as well as manage the dance co. social media pages. Create a slideshow or video to be shown at the spring concert. Will assist the president in creating programs and posters. Should be a friend to everyone and a strong leader. Should be organized and good with technology.

ACTIVITIES CHAIR

In charge of all fun events and activities throughout the year. Will be responsible for remembering and celebrating each company member's birthday in class. Will be in charge of organizing and assigning secret buddies during show week. Will create fun treats, activities, and incentives throughout the year to boost morale and create unity among the company. Should be outgoing, creative, and a friend to everyone.
